Bought Witcher 2 today
So I played a bit of this game a while back, but I never got far. (at a friend's house)
The supah-fancy collector's edition was available at my Best Buy for $30 today, so I picked it up. It includes the game, some silly cut-out things that you can make action figures with or something, a "making-of" DVD, a strategy guide so I don't have to actually think to play the game (lol, what's the point of having it? I like figuring things out for myself), a letter with a bronze doubloon inside (I only wish I were joking), and a map with an uncomfortable number of obese nude women around the border.
Oh, and the game itself.
Did I get the deal of a lifetime? Only time will tell.
I mainly picked it up because I remember Beazel saying something like "don't get it on Steam".

Lol I have the same edition. Except my nephew lost the gold coin >_>.
The game itself is fantastic though.

I miss the days when games came with nice boxes, manuals with information about the lore, art, and tips and tricks, etc. You actually felt like you bought a product.
Now it's just the game disc and a piece of paper with an ad for some crummy shit I'm not interested in.

It's really a great game...
Here's the problem. Something about it refuses to show me Graphics that are beyond low settings.
I've checked. It only uses 10% of my system's resources while running, and the textures are blocky as hell. It looks worse than Oblivion as it is now.
And I know that can't be right. I've seen this game before. It's beautiful, not meh.
My system's specs go well beyond their recommended specs.
It's why I wish this game had graphics options, instead of their "adjust as you play" engine, which doesn't seem to be adjusting very well for me.
EDIT: I am a moron. Move along, people.

Let me guess, you didn't think of clicking the "OPTIONS" menu on the launcher?
