offline mode can't be used if you have no internet.... trust me, i was without net for a week or so, and it was one of the most frustrating things for me . lol.

some games might work if you click the .exe directly... but most won't.

you need to be online in order to get offline mode to work... if you have no connection at all and haven't set steam to run in offline mode prior, you are shit out of luck.

Also for Shogun 2, when all 3 of us are online we should just set it up then. No need for date and stuff.

Using Offline Mode on a PC.

Please follow the instructions below to configure Offline Mode on your PC:
Start Steam online - make sure the Remember my password box on the login window is checked
Verify that all game files are completely updated - you can see the update status for a game under the Library section (when the game shows as 100% - Ready it is ready to be played in Offline Mode)
Launch the game you would like to play offline to verify that there are no further updates to download - shut down the game and return to Steam once you have confirmed that the game can be played
Go to Steam > Settings to ensure the Don't save account credentials on this computer option is not selected
From the main Steam window, go to the Steam menu and select Go Offline
Click Restart in Offline Mode to restart Steam in Offline Mode

so unless you take these steps before you go offline, you're SoL... i heard there are ways around it, but most of them require you know when you're going offline, and if you know that.. well you wouldn't be in this situation to begin with.

Shit just got real playas. For the first time the Oda Shogunate and I share a border. They've got a massive army next to my border and I've been recruiting like crazy in preparation for what could be the final war in my campaign. My ninja have been scouting out Kyoto and I'm actually pretty nervous thinking about the oncoming clash of Japanese superpowers. God this game is epic <3.

I remember that a couple of months ago I could go into offline mode after my internet went down. Now I can't anymore, and when I click "Restart in Offline mode" ( why is that option there anyway? ) Steam thinks it has to install an update, and fails, and it says this operation cannot be done without an internet connection.

This final one is going to hard. The main thing I'm worried about is that the Oda Shogunate are allied with the Takeda and Hojo. No way could I take on those 3 clans and win. I might pay those two to break their alliance. Also I got a max rank ninja, now he has this weird demon mask O_o.

So I finished the Shimazu campaign. I like the ending cutscene, particularly the statue part:



I'm scheduling the battle for this Wednesday. I was meant to face Fuzzy in Empire today but he wasn't online. I prefer Shogun 2 anyway, don't like spending more time watching my units reload their muskets than actually fighting (although the Empire strategy/campaign>Shogun 2). So yeah Twin or Omni, fancy a few rounds?

Also I got this mod that changes the unit colours to make them more easily distinguishable. For example swordsmen are blue and archers are red. Very useful, here is a screenshot I took showing it:
