Some have said that creating alts is nearly as addictive as crack. Ask Fuzzy and Napkin for proof.

Re: THE RETURN OF THE SOFANITE
This one is no alt. Here's the story and it goes back about 13 years.
I started online gaming with Tribes back around 1999. I couldn't think of a great name, so I went with my email account name which I was not so fond of, blue72super. (I had a 1972 super Beetle I was going to paint metallic blue so I could sell it for profit) So I used that name for Tribes, MSN games, Return to Wlfenstien, BF1942, Tony Hawk, and Call of Duty: The Big Red One.
In 2008, I got my PS3 as a birthday present, but I had to trade in my PS2. It was my wife's demand. At that time, PSN did not require a PSN name. In January 2009, I bought Rock BAnd which did require a PSN name. As I was trying to figure out a user name (still after 10 years, I couldn't think of one) My son at 7 months old and having never seen drums before, picked up the sticks, stood up, and beat the hell out of the drum kit. I said to my wife that Lucas was rocking out. I thought, well that could work for a name until I figure one out. Since then I was Lucasrocks1. Never cared that much for the name, but it was a "working title."
So, a month or so ago, I wanted to just play with randoms because I felt stuck, always needing to do the same stuff that I was good at because it helped my team win. It was getting old. So I decided to make an alt that no one knew about so I could practice other things and have more intense matches because, let's face it, when we get together, we stomp pub matches.
I started thinking about what the name would be and I decided to take some of the names of people I knew and find synonyms for the words they used in their names. I started with Lynx (duh) and the best I could come up with was GreenCat. Heck no. I thought of JM-Gamer94 and OmariOnFire and thought, not me. I went to Lord_BlueFungus and said its not me because it says I am way too good. Then I thought of TySupreme. I thought Ty was his name so person. I looked up person and Spirit stuck out. I looked up Supreme and Sovereign stood out as well. So I put the two together and said SpiritSovereign. Heck no. I reversed it and SovereignSpirit. It wasn't bad and it sounded pretty darn good.
After I started using it I realized it was what I had been looking for. Not too "I'm 13 and uber cool", not "i am the friggen best, don't try me", not "I am lame so I picked a name that reflected that." It felt right.
TL;DR- It took me 13 years to figure what user name I wanted and this is what I finally picked. Get over it. No more alts. Never really like alts except on GFQ to throw off the mods.

Re: THE RETURN OF THE SOFANITE
Makes sense to me. I often wish I had thought of a cool name rather than just using the silly nickname that my father and little sis call me. I have kinda got used to everyone calling me Nelsy now though
