i am actually probably more excited for blade and soul they mention in the article...which i think they were looking to release on console as well...but still pretty interested in gw2

Hey guys, im looking forward to GW2 as well. Just finished watching a video, apperenty there wont be any queue's in GW2. In other mmo's like WoW, youd have to wait for ages if the server was busy.

In GW2 if the server is full, youll be asked if you want to join a ''overflow server''. Once there is space on the server u intented to join, you will get a option to go back. Any progress made will be saved. No queue's woo!

I have a question for the rest of u who are interested in GW2. On 10th of april, you can prepurchase GW2, which gives you acces to all Beta Weekend Events. Next one is scheduled late april as far as i know. If you prepurchase, you also have a 3-day headstart and a few one time use items upon release. My question is, are you going to buy the prepurchase one, or wait for it to release the full game?

I mean, the 3-day headstart doesnt bother me, im not going to race to lvl 80. The one time use items are.. one time use. So you dont have to buy it for that reason. But getting in all Beta Weekend Events is a nice treat. My concern is that if you do get to play the game in every BWE before release, you have seen allot of the game. You will probebly end up going along the same questing path/ leveling area's you visited in previous BWE's.

What are your views on this?

It'd be nice if there was finally a game the whole of SoFA could play together again, PC and console. After BC2 died and 50% moved over to PC, we've been fucked. So here's hoping for cross platform.

Yeah, they confirmed that GW2 would come out for consoles as well, albeit a bit later, after the release for PC. So we'll have to wait for that. The source might be in this thread as well, can't remember.

That seems.. odd. I never seen any game do a cross platform game. Let alone a mmo on a console. Well, ive seen one. DCU Online Razz

If they manage to get pc and console users on 1 server.. awesome!

I'd doubt it being cross platform due the patches issue. If a big company like Valve couldn't get some leeway with CS:GO then it doesn't seem likely that GW2 will either. Omni and I were saying that Dust 514 looks very interesting and since it's F2P and has KB/M support, I'll definitely give it a go.

Unfortunately yes. The biggest issue for any game attempting cross platform today is the insane patch controls Sony and MS require. It'd be a huge pain in the ass for PC every time a patch was to be released, since they can do it anytime but the whole process would be held back because of consoles. So I'm not sure how they'd solve that. I get the feeling a lot of developers promise this prematurely before they've looked into what it means to release patches on consoles, and when they do they go "Mother of god... we're fucked".

Well, it sounds like a cool way to get console and pc together on the same server. Though pc users will always have an advantage over console , and pc users will have addons (easily) available. Although it sounds cool, i think it wont work.
