Yeah, it's ...mystifying. I think it was JM who posted about this way back, I thought maybe it was just some silly rumor. What were they thinking? Like you said, it almost seems like trolling. It's the opposite of what they should've done. Most of the time when dev's make mistakes or bad/weird decisions you can at least see the chain of thought behind it, this is just cruel lol.
