I don't even think MW2.1 surpassed Black Ops in unlocks. Black Ops had all this useless stuff in the form of hundreds of reticule signs, weapon skins, and emblem parts(not so sure about this one). The worst part is that about half of the weapon skins require you to be well within the Prestige 10s(getting the gold skin requires Prestige 15). Yeah that's about 300 hours minimum right there.
Then again, even if BF3 has more weapon unlocks than CoD does with skins/reticules, thank god it doesn't have those annoying in-your-face sounds effects when you get ribbons/attachments/medals like it would for JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING in CoD. Yeah BF3 cranked the OCD meter at an all-time high(with regards to the BF franchise, that is), but I'll be damned if it's anywhere as annoying as those damned sound effects from the CoD games.

At least they toned down the award tune from the beta.

Profit margins. COD has a huge amount of players, think how much they'd have to stump up to pay for dedicated servers. They actually make money from this on PC as they are doing the same thing BF3 does on consoles, having a contract with only one server rental company.

Eh I wouldn't go that far yet. Remember when they said that about the first Black Ops? Yeah it was rent-a-server if I recall and the PC version was plagued with a shitton of problems. Oh and LAWL @ X-Ray scoped Anti-tank rifle that can shoot through barriers. Wonder how they're gonna balance that................

MP looks like same old same old so far.
Same map design that encourages the community's "let's sit in a corner ADSing and wait for someone to run by" mentality.

Omni said it was pretty good, I'll wait till a price drop though. £39.99 is a bit steep.
The most liked emblem so far for Blops 2 is a swastika apparently.

i do just fine running around like a mad man with my 870 and throwing hatchet ...
but yeah, it's not anything groundbreaking, it's still basically CoD, if you enjoy the series, it's one of the stronger ones imo. a lot of the maps feel familiar from older entries in the series (there's a map on a boat that feels a lot like that map from CoD4), Cargo is like a larger "Shipment" mixed with "Facility"...
anyways, i haven't touched campaign and probably won't, so i can't give any thoughts on that, but MP is def enjoyable thus far.

Wasn't the campaign where they switched it up the most though? Different endings and shit? You should defo (that's what bad boys say) play through it and let us know.
