So I'm not sure if you guys know but Killing Floor is getting a "big update" in May 14th. This is the 1 year anniversary of Killing Floor's release and rumours are that it is some WW2 themed maps and weapons to promote Red Orchestra 2. The devs have been excellent in giving free DLC in the past so I'm hoping.

Also thanks again camper for the DLC you bought for me. Smile

I think this proves he likes me more than Val.

I didn't get a mouse, but I bought the game today and tried to play it with my ps3 controller...
God knows how you guys have the controls set up, I did horrendously...
I have to set it up differently... and get a lot of practice in...
I hate PC gaming...

Ask Camper how he sets his up, he is really good, usually gets a large amount of kills.

And I have also found out that Manor is the fucking hardest map in the game. Open enough so that you can get attacked from many different sides but not open enough that you can run away and regroup.

camper did well on that map...he held off quite a few undead the other night with the flame thrower by making them come after him in those tunnels by the downed helicopter...that flame thrower is a beast (well I don't know cause I haven't played with it yet but just by watching camper after I've died) against the smaller zombies but the big guys can pose a problem...my favorite gun so far is the bullpup...favorite map is the one that's all indoors and basically just hallways with some offices (i don't know the names of them yet)...my least favorite map is a tie between all of the rest Wink

...not that I don't enjoy the rest but the map I like is the only one that I have played and survived

No but the flame thrower is good, but like Palto said when the big guys come I have to rely on you guys, I set them on fire to weaken them and then you finish them off. That's why you'll often see me running towards you like a hysterical little girl going "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

And I basically set up the PS3 controller to the same button layout as in BC2.
Aim = LI, Fire = R1, Toggle weapons = L2, Alternate Fire = R2, Grenade = Triangle, Reload = Square, Jump = X, Quick Heal = Circle, Start = Use/Enter Shop/Open Door.

The rest of the commands I use the keyboard for, which is seldom necessary.

the biggest nuisance so far is switching between weapons...i find myself trying to switch if one needs a reload and I can never select it...that and there's no sprint or at least that I seen so far

I think a good set-up I was using a lot yesterday is:

Sharpshooter
Bullpup
Shotgun
9mm pistol
Combat Armour

Cheap and effective.

Yeah, I tried to play one game last night RIGHT before I went to sleep, so thats my excuse...
I thought the analog sticks weren't compatible with the game, I didn't see anythin for it on the button mapping screen...
So yeah, I tried playing with the directional pad for movement, and triangle square x and o as aim buttons... Probably would still do better than using a keyboard though......
Like I said, I was tired. Really tired. It'll never happen again...

flamethrower is op.. lol.. but i think deadcamper is usually the last one alive, our last chance at survival in most rounds..

i think my new set up will be:

9mm
Handcannon
Hunting Shotgun
and the Bullpup just in case..

i seem to be strongest with these.. and i love the sharpshooter perk.

i havent played with the other classes much...ive only played the commando (i think) but the sucky thing is if i can afford the bullpup, ill have to buy something cause the single pistol is not good enough...so i end up with the dual pistol that are ok but i dont feel are that effective...i will have to try out the other classes soon though

Well, the Flamethrower sucks when you start out, every weapon gets better when you level up the right CLASS.

Commando = ARs
Support = Shotguns
Sharpshooter = Crossbow, Lever Action, M14, Hand Cannon
Pyro = Flamethrower, also turns ordinary MAC-10s bullets into fire bullets
Berserker = Duh
Medic = Medic Gun

Of course you can mix a little, like the Commandos "faster reload with all guns" makes it faster to reload the annoying pump shotgun etcetera.

Later on when we're all leveled up enough and start to pwn we can just turn up the difficulty.

When I first used the medic gun I thought it'd be good. So I see three specimens walking towards me. I think to myself they should prepare to die. I click fire and the clip empties in about a second without a single specimen dead XD.

Also I've been meaning to try a trick to turn the single shot guns into rapid fire by mapping fire to to the middle mouse wheel.

Oh and Trga, here's a tutorial on how to get MotioninJoy to work properly, depends on which OS you have, I think he has one for each:

Also, at first I couldn't get the right thumbstick to work in Killing Floor, the point of view/camera one, but Omni told me I had to choose "Custom Profile" in the main MotioninJoy Tool window and then just map the right thumbstick as the mouse axis. Sounds like a hassle but it really isn't, when you're done you never have to bother with it again.

it's one of the best joystick managers i've ever used.. wish it was available for all gamepads and sticks to be honest.
